Technicians and engineers specialized in the craft of surgical mechanics spearhead our design. They are the interface between the wishes of our development partners and what is technically feasible for us.
PRESSING / PUNCHING
Punching, pressing and embossing in our own tool shop are an important part of our production.
For our own products and contract work, we specialize in small sheet metal parts such as springs, mouth gags, impression trays and grips. All kinds of embossing jobs up to 60 tons.
SR and SV-series CNC long-turning lathes up to Ø 32 mm. Small series from 250 units.
Transverse and longitudinal processing, thread-whirling, processing of special materials as used in medical technology and implantology.
CNC 4- & 5-axis machining for small to large series.
Specialist in difficult-to-machine materials (titanium, implant steel), but also light metals and plastics.

Contour grinding and precise machining of free surfaces. Example: Saw blades for orthopedics, trephines, bone drills and mills, working ends of surgical instruments with carbide inserts, etc.
Our own hardening shop is a guarantee of our high quality and flexibility. Continuous, cycle and vacuum furnaces and shock cooling systems are used, adapted to the respective medical products for your later requirements.
This department is available for awarding contract work.
By finishing we mean vibratory grinding, vibratory polishing, electropolishing and passivation. We have several systems available for this purpose for the respective surfaces and material combinations. As a medical device manufacturer, we need these validated processes as downstream work steps from our own hardening shop in order to keep direct access to these quality-relevant work steps under our own control.

The qualification of our employees in fine machining forms the basis of our quality.
We have been training surgical mechanics since the company was founded in 1921. Working with young people does not just start with the apprenticeship contract. Helmut Zepf is intensively involved in the region and supports local and charitable associations that actively work with young people. The trainees from Helmut Zepf have been among the best in the region for years.
For us it is a commitment to our production site in Seitingen-Oberflacht / Tuttlingen and a sense of responsibility towards society and the community.
